FAQs
Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common questions about how ACR operates, what we offer, and how to work with us.
Pricing & Billing
Quotes, invoicing, payment terms, and surcharges.
- Pricing depends on the dumpster size, your location, the rental period, and what you're throwing away. We provide a flat-rate quote upfront that includes delivery, pickup, disposal, and standard tonnage. Heavy materials like concrete, dirt, brick, and roofing shingles often have separate pricing because of weight surcharges at the landfill. For multi-site or recurring service, we build custom pricing structures around your volume and frequency.
- No. The quote you receive includes everything we know about upfront: delivery, pickup, disposal, and the included tonnage allowance. The only charges that can be added after the fact are overage fees (if the dumpster goes over its weight limit), trip fees (if a driver arrives and can't deliver or pick up due to a blocked location), and any prohibited items found in the load. We flag these clearly in the contract so there are no surprises.
- Standard invoicing is sent via email after service completion, with payment due in 30 days for established commercial accounts. For one-off rentals, payment is typically collected before delivery. We can set up recurring billing, consolidated invoicing across multiple sites, and custom payment terms for larger commercial relationships.
- Yes. We work with purchase orders for established commercial accounts and government contracts. Reach out to set up a PO-based billing arrangement.
- If the dumpster weighs more than the tonnage included in your quote, the overage is charged per ton at the rate disclosed in your contract. Rates vary by market because they're tied to local landfill fees. We give you the per-ton overage rate upfront so you can estimate cost if you think you'll be close to the limit.
Service & Logistics
Drop-off, pickup, swaps, scheduling, and response times.
- In most markets, we can deliver within 24 to 48 hours of order confirmation. Same-day delivery is sometimes available depending on location, equipment availability, and time of order. For scheduled or recurring service, we lock in the delivery window in advance.
- Standard rental periods vary by market, anywhere from 7 to 30 days depending on local norms and the type of project. We can also structure rentals for any length of time outside the standard window, from a single day to ongoing service across the duration of a multi-month project. Daily rates apply if you keep the dumpster past the included rental period.
- Swap-outs (also called dump-and-returns) happen on active job sites where the dumpster fills up before the project ends. Schedule a swap and we'll empty the existing dumpster and return it, or replace it with an empty one. Swap fees are sometimes less than ordering a new rental from scratch, though it depends on the market and type of haul.
- Yes. Call or email us before the original pickup date and we'll extend the rental at the daily rate disclosed in your contract. We'd rather extend than have you scramble to clear the dumpster on a deadline.
- For active service issues (missed pickup, blocked access, urgent swap), response time is typically within minutes during business hours and up to an hour during extended hours. For account or billing questions, expect a response within 24 hours during business days. Larger commercial accounts get a dedicated point of contact for faster routing.
- Saturday delivery and pickup are available in most markets, though scheduling is tighter than weekdays. Sunday and after-hours service can be arranged for emergency situations or major projects with advance notice. Weekend service may carry a small premium depending on the market.
Sizes & Equipment
Choosing the right dumpster, what's available, and weight limits.
- Our standard roll-off lineup includes 10, 20, 30, and 40 yard dumpsters. We also offer 10 and 20 yard trailer dumpsters in select markets (useful for driveway-friendly placement on residential or property management work). For commercial waste service, we offer 2, 4, 6, and 8 yard front-load dumpsters for ongoing pickup schedules.
- Prohibited items typically include hazardous waste, paint and solvents, tires, batteries, refrigerators and appliances with refrigerants, fluorescent bulbs, asbestos, and medical waste. Specific rules vary by market based on local landfill regulations. We provide a full prohibited items list with every contract.
- Yes. Each size has an included tonnage allowance, typically: 10 yards (1 to 2 tons), 20 yards (2 to 3 tons), 30 yards (3 to 4 tons), 40 yards (4 to 5 tons). Going over the limit triggers per-ton overage fees. Heavy materials like concrete, dirt, and brick often need a smaller dumpster with a higher weight tolerance because volume isn't the limiting factor on those loads.
- Yes. We handle concrete and dirt-only loads, hazmat-adjacent cleanouts (with proper permitting), construction site compactors, and ongoing commercial waste service across multiple locations. If you have an unusual project or material, ask. We've coordinated almost everything at this point.
Coverage & Markets
Where ACR operates, multi-site work, and regional availability.
- ACR provides dumpster rental and commercial waste management service across all 50 states. We have physical offices in Detroit, Indianapolis, and Miami, and active service in every major US market.
- Yes. Multi-site service is one of the things we do best. You get one point of contact, one contract, and consolidated invoicing across every market where we serve you. Whether you're a contractor running projects in five states or a property management company with sites in fifty, we coordinate the whole portfolio under a single account.
- We service rural and remote areas regularly, though delivery windows and pricing can be different than dense metro markets. Send us the address and we'll confirm coverage and timing before you commit.
- Pricing logic is consistent across markets, but actual rates can vary drastically based on local landfill fees, hauler costs, and regional demand. What stays the same is how we price (transparent quote upfront, same surcharge structure, same overage logic) and our commitment to staying competitive in every market we operate in. You won't get gouged in one market because you're locked into a national contract.
- Our three offices (Detroit, Indianapolis, Miami) are operational hubs, but service coordination happens nationally. We have established relationships with reliable haulers in every market, and our internal team manages every dispatch, invoice, and issue. From your end, it's the same experience whether the dumpster is delivered in Carmel, Indiana or Tacoma, Washington.
Account Management
Setting up an account, single points of contact, and reporting.
- Reach out via the contact page or call us directly. For commercial accounts, we'll walk through your typical service needs, project volume, and billing preferences, then build a contract structured around how you actually operate. Most accounts can be set up within a few business days.
- Yes. Commercial accounts are assigned a dedicated account manager who knows your operation, your sites, and your billing setup. You won't be routed through a phone tree or sent to a generic queue every time you call.
- Yes. For multi-site or high-volume accounts, we provide custom reporting on service activity, weights, costs by location, and disposal documentation. Reporting cadence and format are built around what your team actually uses (CSV, PDF, integration with your existing systems).
- Just let us know. Adding sites or service types to an existing account is straightforward. We update the contract, add the new locations to your billing structure, and start service as quickly as the local market allows.
